Emmerton Elementary School is a kindergarten through third grade school with a strong academic program for primary students. Teachers use small groups, direct instruction, and technology to provide instruction that meets the needs of all students.

Six SBCUSD middle schools have been designated as 2025 California Schools to Watch by the California Department of Education, the California League of Middle Schools, the California Middle Grades Alliance and the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform.

Ana Applegate Honored with Prestigious Award from the California Association for Bilingual Education
SBCUSD is proud to announce that Ana Applegate, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, has been recognized by the California Association for Bilingual Education with a prestigious award for her outstanding contributions to bilingual education and student success.

On Feb. 18, the SBCUSD Board of Education presented the Outstanding Achievement Awards to students, parents and staff of Salinas Elementary School, Thompson Elementary School, Paakuma’ K–8 School and San Bernardino High School (SBHS).
