MISSION STATEMENT
The primary mission of Emmerton Elementary School is to provide academic instruction to all students while helping them develop citizenship and social skills for a satisfying school experience, which can be applied to a productive life. Our model discipline plan provides implementation, instruction, and rewards for “Being Safe, Being Respectful, Being Responsible.”
Emmerton Elementary School is a kindergarten through third grade school with a strong academic program for primary students. Teachers use small groups, direct instruction, and technology to provide instruction that meets the needs of all students. We have a learning center to provide reading support to students. The Waterford Computer Lab, Accelerated Reader, and Success Maker motivate students in reading with the use of technology. English learners receive English Language Development instruction. Our staff believes that collaboration is the key to building a Professional Learning Community and meets regularly for staff development. CAPS provides homework help and learning activities for students. Tutoring is offered after school for eligible students.
